If you are CURIOUS as to what this is all about, look at the INTRODUCTION
But if you KNOW WHAT THIS SORT OF GROUTING IS, you will find a great deal of information about it (and some fun) in the files listed below. They are all interactive and animated.
GEOLOGY Adapting grouting to suit the geology.
WHEN IS GROUTING NECESSARY? Deciding how intensively to do grouting.
STAGES Grouting long holes in stages.
SEQUENCES How to arrange closure patterns of grout holes for maximum effect.
FLOW FUNDAMENTALS DEMONSTRATED And if you wish to delve deeply into the nature of grout flow in horizontal cracking, look at this. It shows a series of injections carried out away back in 1962 to illustrate this type of flow. This particular testing was generally regarded as a salient step in the improvement of grouting technology and has been called "historic". This is its first entire public presentation

These programmes appear here by courtesy of ASCE's G-I Grouting Committee, and are expanded versions of similar ones on the original Australian site (which can be reached by clicking here).
PLEASE NOTE that they embody the author's experience, opinions and recommendations: these are not necessarily endorsed by the Grouting Committee. The programmes are presented for guidance only and anticipate intelligent adaption to the nuances of foundation conditions by users.
They are FREEWAREand may be freely downloaded and distributed without charge. However, world copyright is held by A.C.Houlsby.
MORE INFORMATION about grouting can be found in the book CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN OF CEMENT GROUTING, A guide to grouting in rock foundations, by A.C.HOULSBY. Published by John Wiley and Sons, New York, 1990, ISBN 0-471-51629-5. This book and these programmes complement each other.
The book provides thorough coverage of the subject. Grouting methods are fully detailed and explained, and their applicability to various engineering projects is dealt with in detail. Written in an easy-to-read manner, the book is arranged as a reference manual with numerous cross references. It is essentially a guide rather than being a 'recipe book'. Numerous humorous touches reflect this author's quirky sense of fun.
A. Clive Houlsby (1929 - ) is an Australian Civil Engineer with about 40 years' involvement with cement grouting. This has included site investigation, trials of grouting, design, construction, evaluation and long-term performance monitoring.
Courses on grouting were conducted annually in U.S.A. for 15 years, and individual courses have been held in several other countries.
Other activities have included the direction of a Dam Safety Group responsible for the large irrigation dams in NSW, Australia. There has also been involvement in most aspects of dam design and construction.
The programmes here are presented for the purpose of passing grouting expertise on to other people. It is hoped that they will interest and help you.
